New Pa. law to make financial literacy education mandatory for high school students

5/1/25, 4:00 PM

A new state law will soon require all Pennsylvania high school students to complete a financial literacy course before graduation, with some local schools already preparing to implement these crucial life skills lessons ahead of schedule.

The new requirement will present challenges for many Pennsylvania schools, as several institutions currently don't have dedicated financial literacy courses in place. Instead, these schools typically incorporate financial principles into other subjects, like social studies.
