Connecticut is set to require high school students to complete a financial literacy course in order to graduate.

The bill, S.B. 1165, received strong support from both the Senate and House of Representatives and now awaits Governor Ned Lamont's approval. If signed, Connecticut will join 20 other states that have implemented financial literacy education requirements.

The course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills to make sound financial decisions and will cover topics such as banking, investing, savings, and credit card usage. Supporters believe that financial literacy is crucial for students' future success and economic empowerment.
